Although the Evoque is slightly smaller and comes with a lower price tag, this year’s model offers some updates that make it highly competitive. The Velar, however, still gives you a little bit more to love. Our Range Rover Evoque vs. Velar comparison has all the details.

Range Rover Evoque vs. Velar: Standard Features

You really can’t lose in this year’s Range Rover Velar vs. Evoque matchup. Both models offer standard Pivi Pro infotainment, standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and leather seats. However, even though the Evoque receives some significant updates for the new year, the Velar still delivers more luxury as standard:

  • Audio System: Only the Range Rover Velar comes standard with a Meridian™ sound system with 12 speakers. The Evoque includes a 6-speaker audio system as standard.
  • Touchscreen Displays: The Velar comes standard with two touchscreen displays. To get a second touchscreen display in the Evoque, you’ll need to upgrade to the SE trim level.
  • New for 2022: Notably, this year’s Evoque does come standard with Terrain Response 2® and a wireless device charging panel! Both of these features currently cost extra in the Velar, although they may come standard when the Velar turns over into model-year 2022.

Range Rover Evoque vs. Velar: Performance and Capability

The 2022 Range Rover Evoque is offered with two engines, and the first—a 2.0L P250 i4 Gas engine with 246 hp—comes standard on all but the high-end HST trim level. The sole available upgrade delivers 296 hp, so you can get more out of your drives through Los Angeles and Orange County.

The 2021 Range Rover Velar gives you a choice between three engines: a 247-hp i4, a 335-hp i6, and a 395-hp i6. If you’re willing to pay more in exchange for more power, the Velar may be a better choice than the Evoque. Additionally, the Velar can tow up to 5,512 pounds, while the Evoque can tow up to 3,968 pounds.
