Land Rover has an amazing history with producing some of the most amazing and luxurious vehicles capable of going over the road and right off it. The entire United States lineup is produced with all-wheel-drive systems of varying types. Even down to the Range Rover Evoque, with its 9-speed transmission, a technological tour de force that is.

Servicing a Land Rover or Range Rover is not complicated though, services are required once a year at varying mileages for the different models and production years. The First service is a thorough vehicle check to go with a filter change. All of the safety equipment, including the seat belts are checked, the wheels are removed and the brakes are inspected. The 4-wheel-drive system is tested in both low and high settings by a Land Rover Factory Certified technician. The insides of the wheels are even treated with anti-seize, just in case your Land Rover or Range Rover will be heading off road before your next service.

Even a Land Rover will eventually succumb to the trials of driving over Los Angeles roads. After two years of going over the hills and through downtown, any vehicle will need some looking at. Items and machinery wear at different intervals, so keeping up on maintenance is important. The is some crossover service-to-service but a large portion of what is inspected or changed year over year is very different.

By the second year, Land Rover recommends having all of the hoses, hinges, suspension attachments, drive-shafts, steering system & components and many other systems checked along with having the vehicle serviced and the oil changed.

Your Land Rover’s brakes are its most important safety system. They are possibly its hardest working feature. Brakes are not only responsible for stopping the car in an emergency. They communicate with the steering system, engine, four-wheel-drive system and the anti-lock braking system and create traction and stability control. This is of crucial importance on rainy days, when off-road or when you would very much like to stay on the road but might be in inclement weather.

This system is based on the operation of two features: the brakes themselves, the metallic discs inside each wheel at each corner, and the hydraulic fluid which pressurizes them. The brakes themselves are considered a wear item because they use friction to stop your vehicle and keep you safe. They are worn down over time. The hydraulic fluid that pressurizes the system will take on water over time. It is hygroscopic, and can become contaminated. Your braking performance will suffer if your brake fluid becomes contaminated.

t’s important to monitor the condition of this system when you service your vehicle. Your brakes should be checked on a regular basis by our Land Rover Certified technicians. Our staff is trained, by Land Rover, to make assessments, diagnose and fix any issues you could have.

Brake services at Land Rover Anaheim Hills include the following:

  • Remove wheels
  • Replace brake pads
  • Dissemble brake system as necessary
  • Replace brake rotors
  • (Optionally) balance tires and wheels

Road Test for:

  • Verify completion of work
  • Test brakes for smoothness and stopping power

Your Land Rover’s suspension, wheels and tires are very carefully engineered to provide you that smooth, comfortable ride while maintaining that enjoyable handling experience. After experiencing potholes and other harsh road conditions and hazards, your alignment may be out of factory specification. This can increase road noise, decrease comfort and cause the steering and handling to behave unpredictably.

An alignment of a wheel is determined by three angles, camber, toe and caster. Most vehicles’ caster angle will not fall out of spec but camber and toe can change over time. Each of these three angles needs to be within a fraction of a degree to be correct.

It’s important to maintain a factory alignment as it will make sure your Land Rover handles as intended, quiet, smooth but incredibly capably off-road. We recommend you have an alignment performed once a year or whenever you mount a set of new tires. Our technicians are Land Rover Certified to make assessments, diagnose and fix any issues you could have.

Four wheel alignments at Land Rover Anaheim Hills include the following:

  • Mounting the vehicle to a state-of-the-art four-wheel alignment device
  • Determining the exact position and angle of each wheel with respect to the three angles, camber, toe, and caster
  • Making the necessary adjustments to each individual wheel and suspension corner
  • Road Test to verify completion of work

Vehicle weight is not perfectly even over tires. In some vehicles the front tires wear more quickly, with some vehicles the rear are worn at a faster rate. Aggressive driving and various road types can exacerbate this too.

Rotating tires will make sure the tires wear more evenly, allowing them to last longer. Saving you time, money and preserving your Land Rover’s safe and capable handling. We recommend you have an alignment performed once a year or whenever you mount a set of new tires. Our technicians are Land Rover Certified to make assessments, diagnose and fix any issues you could have.

Tire rotations at Land Rover Anaheim Hills include the following:

  • Rotate the wheels and tires from the front to the rear of the vehicle as well as perform a high speed electronic wheel balance to minimize vibrations and uneven wear on your tires.
