What’s New in the 2023 Range Rover?
Although the fifth-generation Range Rover was briefly offered as a 2022 model, 2023 is the first full model-year for the latest version of this classic luxury off-road SUV—and those with big dreams can’t get enough of the 2023 Range Rover redesign. In what follows, we’ll cover the most important differences between the outgoing model and the new Range Rover’s 2023 updates. Just be aware from the outset that the designers at Land Rover have left no element unconsidered, and the latest model features many, many changes.
2023 Range Rover Redesign: Updates & Changes
2023 Range Rover Platform & Performance
- Platform: The 2023 Range Rover has been built on the brand’s new Modular Longitudinal Architecture. Unlike the architecture used in the past, this platform can accommodate gas-powered, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The new Range Rover is considerably lighter than before, which can only mean that performance will improve as well.
- PHEV & EV Configurations: The 2023 Range Rover is the first Range Rover to offer a Plug-In Hybrid powertrain with up to 434 horsepower. In 2024, the Range Rover will be the first model in the brand’s lineup to be offered with 100% electric propulsion.
- Additional Powertrains: More efficient options have become available, but gas isn’t going anywhere just yet. The new Range Rover comes standard with a 395-hp powertrain, and a 523-hp V8 is available for those who upgrade.
- Handling & Ride Quality: If you drive the new Range Rover in 2023, you’ll benefit from standard All-Wheel Steering, Integrated Chassis Control, Dynamic Response Pro, and Electronic Air Suspension, and more, ensuring a superior ride on pavement. And off-road, the 2023 Range Rover is just as capable as ever.
2023 Range Rover Interior
- Interior Materials: In addition to the leather that Land Rover drivers know and love, the 2023 Range Rover is offered with luxurious alternatives, including Ultrafabrics™ and Kvadrat™ wool. Things get even nicer in the handcrafted Range Rover SV trim level.
- Seating and Layout: The outgoing Range Rover was offered with standard and extended wheelbase options, but the 2023 Range Rover redesign is the first to offer an optional third row of seating for up to seven passengers in total. The four and five-passenger interiors remain available; you’ll need to upgrade with the extended wheelbase if you want the third row, but you can forgo the extra seating if you desire.
- Technology: Along with the latest Pivi Pro™ interface, the 2023 Range Rover features Wireless Apple CarPlay™/Android Auto™, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM with 360L, and much more. A Meridian™ Sound System is still standard.
Thanks to its increased seating capacity, the 2023 Range Rover redesign has no trouble going head-to-head against rivals like the Cadillac Escalade.
2023 Range Rover Exterior
- Design Principles: Where the outgoing Range Rover was distinguished by its rugged and boxy frame, the new Range Rover is more focused on achieving “the harmony of proportions, surface and lines”—according to Land Rover. As a result, the latest model has a more organic, flowing exterior design.
